Your donation helps people across the North Shore find stability, confidence, and connection when life feels complex. With your support, families, seniors, newcomers, and neighbours can access trusted programs and practical resources that strengthen independence and everyday wellbeing.
Across the North Shore, many people are navigating moments of uncertainty. Families are working to make confident decisions about childcare and early learning. Newcomers are finding their footing in unfamiliar systems while building community connections. Residents with low income are managing housing stress, financial pressure, or legal challenges. Seniors are working to maintain independence as daily tasks become more difficult and support networks shrink.
Every day, our staff and volunteers provide steady, trusted support that helps people understand their options, reduce mental load, and move forward with greater confidence. NSCR does not address challenges in isolation. We support the whole person by connecting them to programs, resources, and relationships that strengthen long term wellbeing.
With your generous support, we will be able to build on the impact we were able to generate last year:

Jasmine, a single mom with a three year old and an infant, was facing the stress of a separation, legal uncertainty, and limited family support. Navigating childcare, finances, and shared parenting felt overwhelming, and she did not know where to turn for support.
Everything began to shift when she connected with NSCR.
During a visit to the Mother Goose program, Jasmine shared her situation with the facilitator, who referred her to NSCR’s Family Law Advocate. Together, they worked through child support, shared parenting arrangements, and the steps needed to move forward with confidence. When Jasmine realized she needed past tax returns filed in order to access financial aid, she received support through NSCR’s Income Tax Program.
As these pieces came together, Jasmine began to feel more grounded and capable during a difficult period. She found community, learned new skills, and continued to participate in Child and Parent programming as her children grew.
